Other areas in Psychology such as research, academic teaching and advocation all provide a sound base for our work. Being able to practice our profession is the culmination of what our science has fought for over the last 7 decades. Whether that be Psychotherapy, Assessment, Forensics, Prescription Privileges...... all are areas in which we work front-line with the public.
It is important for a candidate to have a significant focus on our ability to offer our services free from the incursions of insurance companies which can include low fee schedules, intrusive oversight and punitive actions. It is possible for both insurers and Psychologist to work collaboratively and serve the public effectively.
