Hi, I’m Chuck Hollister…

A three-time APA Fellow, licensed psychologist, former member of APA’s Strategic Plan Update Committee, organizer, and advocate. I live in a red state, where working across the aisle is not optional — it is essential. That experience has taught me to look for shared values, to search out common interests, and to listen deeply. If I won't listen to someone, why should they listen to me? I don't focus on what divides us. I look for what might help, what might bring us together, and then I take action — almost always with other colleagues. We do it together.

I have a deep love for the work we do as psychologists and the communities that support us. Our science changes lives. But psychology only realizes its full potential when the people doing the work feel supported, respected, and heard.

I'm running for APA President-Elect because I believe we can do more — for psychologists, for their SPTAs and Divisions, and for the people we serve. That means an APA that listens to its members, stands up for our profession, and brings us together for the impact we are capable of making. Not by waiting for change, but by leading it together.

You can ask me what I accomplished yesterday, but the real question is what are we going to do together right now!

If not now, when?

My best,

Chuck
